Lefthand Canyon Construction Update – Paving to resume west of Lee Hill on Tuesday
Hello -
Here's information on work you can expect to see in Lefthand Canyon for the week of Oct. 10 - 14.
Kelley Trucking, Inc. (KTI) will once again focus a majority of their efforts on areas west of Lee Hill Road. Paving operations will resume in Lefthand Canyon on Tuesday, Oct. 11 and will continue through the week. Paving will take place west of Lee Hill Road, so expect delays as flaggers will be used to move people safely around paving operations. As you may have seen, paving is complete between US 36 and Lee Hill Road, except for the short section being excavated at mile 1.3. Between Lee Hill Road and Spring Gulch, the roadway is either milled asphalt or gravel; therefore it is rough and in less than favorable travel conditions. We ask that everyone use caution when traveling along this stretch.
Today, crews began preparing the area at Lickskillet Road for a new culvert that will be installed over the next several days. A shoofly is being constructed to allow travelers to pass around the work zone with minimal delay. There may be longer delays when the culvert is delivered and set. That date has not been established. Another message will be sent when more information is known.
Excavation work will continue next week in the area east of Glendale Gulch. Expect longer delays in this area when rock is being removed, loaded into trucks, and hauled away.
No work is currently planned for next week at mile 1.3, so do not expect the hour long delays at that spot. If this changes, I'll send out an update ASAP.
Thank you for your time, patience, and understanding. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
Have a good day and a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Andrew
