Learn about poverty in the community — Attend a poverty simulation Wednesday, Oct. 19
How would you make
difficult choices about food, transportation and housing?
**CORRECTION: The date of the poverty simulation is WEDNESDAY, Oct. 19, 2016**
Boulder County, Colo. - While
many see Boulder County as home to prosperous and affluent communities, the
fact is poverty affects more than one in 10 people who live here. If you
have not experienced poverty yourself, it may be hard to imagine what a life in
poverty means. The Boulder County Circles Campaign is holding a Poverty
Simulation the evening of Oct. 19 to help people understand what those in
poverty deal with every day.
-
What: Circles Campaign Poverty
Simulation - When: Wednesday, Oct. 19, 5:30-8 p.m.
- Where: Vinelife Church, 7845 Lookout Rd., Longmont
In this dynamic, hands-on experience participants
are given a budget to work with and must make the hard choices required of
families with limited resources. What bills do you decide to pay this month,
what do you do when a child or parent gets sick, how can you afford healthy
food for your family?
This is a chance to learn more about the people living
in your community.
The event is free, but
reservations are required. For more information about the event or to RSVP, contact
