James Canyon Flood Recovery Project Update – June 6, 2017 – Expect delays starting June 12
KTI will begin working on a culvert installation project to kick off the road work starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 12 The initial work zone will be located just uphill from the intersection/confluence at Lefthand Canyon. This work will require single-lane closures between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Flaggers will be used to move travelers safely around the work zone, so expect delays. Asphalt will be removed from both sides of the road in order to install the new culvert, so please use caution when traveling through this area. KTI will do their best to keep delays as short as possible, but they could range up to 15-minutes (infrequently) depending on the work being completed. KTI plans to continue installing cross-culverts under James Canyon Drive in the coming weeks, so expect delays as operations proceed uphill towards Jamestown. I'll provide more information on locations and delay times as soon as it is known.
In addition to the road work, stream work will commence around the same location as the road work and will proceed west towards Jamestown. Expect delays when vehicles and equipment are entering and exiting the roadway from the stream area. These delays should be short and infrequent.
Please allow yourself more time to safely arrive at your destination during working hours (7 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Monday through Friday).
Let me know if you have questions, comments, or concerns.
Have a good day.
Sincerely,
Andrew
