Horse trapping in rocks on Walker Ranch Loop Trail at the Cliffs

Boulder County, Colo. - On March 24, 2018, around 5:24 p.m., Boulder County Communications received a 911 call regarding a horse that got stuck in the rocks then collapsed on the Walker Ranch Loop Trail at the "Cliffs". Rescue personnel from Rocky Mountain Fire, Boulder County Sheriff's Emergency Service, and Boulder County Parks and Open Space arrive on scene first and found the horse trapped in the rocks adjacent to the trail. The rider did not sustain any injuries.

Given the technical nature of the rescue, Boulder Emergency Services, Rocky Mountain Rescue, and Golden Emergency Veterinary Services were call to the scene to assist.

At this time they are still working on extricating the animal from the rocks.
