Gold Run Road/Gold Creek Flood Recovery Project Kick-Off Meeting – Thursday, Sept. 14
Boulder County Transportation will host a Gold Run Road/Gold Creek Flood Recovery Project Kick-Off meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Salina Schoolhouse - 536 Gold Run Road.
County representatives and members of the construction team from SEMA Construction will provide an overview of the project, including phasing/schedule and anticipated travel impacts. A question and answer session will follow the project introduction.
More information on the project can be found at www.GoldRunRoad.com. Visit this webpage to follow along with the project as it will be updated routinely with new project information.
SEMA anticipates starting initial survey work and mobilization of equipment on Monday, Sept. 18. They plan to begin working on the stream restoration component of the project first at the upper reaches of the work area. Road work will begin a few weeks later and it will follow the stream restoration from top to bottom.
SEMA believes they can complete both the road and creek projects without having to fully close the road. Travelers can expect lane closures in multiple locations at various times during construction. Flaggers will be used to move people safely and expeditiously around active work zones. If a lane closure is required overnight, temporary traffic signals will be placed on Gold Run Road to keep people moving.
The project is anticipated to last until October 2018.
Many aspects of physical construction are still being finalized, including exactly how travel will be handled. More information will be shared on www.GoldRunRoad.com as details are worked out. I will also send messages to this listserv detailing weekly plans and impacts on the traveling public.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time if you have questions, comments, or concerns.
Thank you for your time, patience, and understanding while we work to complete this project.
Have a good day.
