Fallen climber on the first flatiron

Male climber deceased after sustaining injuries from a fall

Boulder County, Colo. - On Thursday, October 26, at approximately 1:08 p.m., the Boulder County Communications
Center received a report of a fallen climber near the first flatiron, located on
Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks property.

There were multiple witness in the area who saw or heard the climber fall. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the male climber deceased.

Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Open Space
and Mountain Parks, AMR ambulance, Boulder Fire Department, and Rocky Mountain
Rescue Group responded to the scene.

An investigation will be completed by detectives with the Boulder
County Sheriff’s Office as well as an investigator with the Boulder County Coroner’s Office. The
identification, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the
Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
