Death Investigation Entrance to West Magnolia
Boulder County, Colo. -
On Sunday, August 6, 2017 a 26-year-old male from Longmont was
camping with two friends in the Winiger Ridge camping area near Gross
Reservoir. At about 1:00 am, the victim began suffering an apparent
medical emergency. The friends drove the victim up Magnolia Drive to
the Peak to Peak Highway, where they were able to get cell service and call
911
Boulder County Sheriff's Office deputies and a Nederland
police officer responded and arrived within minutes and began
CPR. The Nederland Fire Department responded, and resuscitation
efforts were performed for over 20 minutes, but the victim could not be
revived.
Boulder County Sheriff's Office detectives and the Boulder County
Coroner's Office responded to conduct a joint investigation. Preliminary the event appears medical in
nature, but the investigation remains ongoing.
