Cone Zones: East County Line Road paving project starts Friday, July 28
Daytime, weekday road closures in different sections during project; Detours will be established
Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Transportation will begin an asphalt overlay project at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 28, on East County Line Road between the City of Longmont limits and CO Highway 52.
In order to safely accommodate the work, stretches of East County Line Road will be closed, to both motor vehicles and cyclists, from 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The locations and days (approximate) of the closures are as follows:
Closed Between Hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M-F:
- Friday, July 28 through Tuesday, Aug. 8 – East County Line closed between Quicksilver Road and Oxford Road
- Wednesday, Aug. 9 through Monday, Aug. 14 – East County Line closed between Oxford Road and Niwot Road
- Tuesday, Aug. 15 through Friday, Aug. 18 – East County Line closed between Niwot Road and CO Highway 52
Local residents and emergency services personnel will be allowed to access properties in the closure areas at all times. All work is weather dependent.
This project is part of Boulder County’s annual roadway resurfacing project, which aims to maintain roads so that complete overhauls are not necessary. A full road overhaul would take much longer to complete and would require full roadway closures 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
