Community Meeting for Restoration Design for James and Little James Creeks June 1

Boulder County, Colo. - Funding has recently been
secured for creek restoration in portions of James Creek and Little James Creek.
Boulder County and the Lefthand Watershed
Oversight Group are working in collaboration with the James Creek Watershed
Initiative and the Town of Jamestown to develop stream restoration designs for
James and Little James Creeks.

Please join us at a public
meeting on Wednesday, June 1 to review the draft designs and provide input. This
is an important opportunity to provide feedback on what you would like to see
on your property. We will also discuss the anticipated construction timeframe
and permission forms needed from property owners in order to do the restoration
work.

What: Community Meeting
When:
Wednesday, June 1, 6-8
p.m.
Where: Jamestown Town Hall, 118 Main Street

The meeting will be an open
house format, with a brief overview of the project at the beginning. During the
open house, there will be the opportunity to sign-up for a time slot to meet
with the stream restoration design consultant.

Next Steps
Final designs will be
completed in June 2016. Following completion of the design, Boulder County will
implement the stream restoration project using a combination of funding from
Boulder County and Natural Resources Conservation Service Emergency Watershed
Protection Program. Construction is planned to begin in concert with necessary
road construction, currently expected to begin late fall- early winter of 2016.
