style="border-collapse: collapse; vertical-align: top;" valign="top">
Boulder County – The public is invited to
observe the Boulder County Election Division’s 2016 General Election voting equipment
audit beginning Monday, November 14 at 9:30 a.m. The audit is a post-election quality
assurance test that ensures the accuracy of the machine tally of votes.
Boulder County’s audit is conducted according to state statute. Ballots
are selected from a scanner determined by the Secretary of State’s office. Any
discrepancy is investigated. A final report is issued to the Boulder County
Canvass Board for verification before the election is certified.
Members of the public can observe the audit process at the Boulder County
Ballot Processing Center, 1750 33rd Street in Boulder (check in on 2nd floor at
the Elections Division). Contests and ballot batches will be randomly by Canvass
members. Ballots will be manually tallied and compared with machine tallies beginning
Tuesday, November 15 at 10 a.m. and continue until complete (likely by 4:30
p.m.) for the audit. The process will continue Wednesday, if needed.
Complete audit details and data will be available at bouldercounty.gov/elections
on or after November 22.
