Boulder County Parks & Open Space Seeking Volunteer Angler Hosts

Deadline to apply is June 3, training day is June 10

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Parks & Open Space Department is in need of Volunteer Angler Hosts for the summer season. Volunteer Angler Hosts help at kids fishing clinics and family fishing events where they teach beginner fishing skills such as knot tying, casting, and fish handling. As needed, these volunteers also provide park visitors with information about fishing opportunities at the park and help Wildlife Biologists determine fish species and populations in local streams and rivers.

Angler Hosts have volunteer duties at Cattail Pond at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, Lagerman Reservoir near Niwot, Stearns Lake at Carolyn Holmberg Preserve, and Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat near Gunbarrel.

Volunteers are required to complete one full-day training on Saturday, June 10 and commit to working at least three special events between June and October. This is roughly 15-20 hours of volunteer service for the season.

Application deadline for volunteers is Saturday, June 3.
