Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Parks and Open Space is hosting the annual Junior and Senior Team Fishing Derby.

What: Annual Junior and Senior Team Fishing Derby

Date: Saturday, Oct. 14, 9:00 a.m. -noon (Derby takes place rain or shine.)

Location: Wally Toevs Pond at Walden Ponds on 75th Street between Jay Road and Valmont in Boulder (Map and Directions)

  • Teams consist of one senior 64 or older and one junior 15 years or younger fishing together.
  • The derby offers prizes to the team that catches the heaviest trout, has the largest age difference, and are first to catch the limit.
  • Seniors must have a valid Colorado fishing license.
  • The pond is stocked with rainbow trout – artificial and live bait are permitted.
  • A wheelchair accessible pier is available.
  • The event takes place rain or shine!
