Betasso Preserve Forestry Project Community Meeting Aug. 30
Mid-week park closures October through December
Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Parks & Open space will hold a community meeting to discuss details, timelines, and show maps describing the Betasso Preserve Forestry Project on Aug. 30, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at the Sugarloaf Fire Station 2. The City of Boulder will also present updates regarding work at the Betasso Water Treatment Plant.

Project Details
The forest management project will take place on county land adjacent to the City of Boulder’s Betasso Water Treatment Plant. Approximately 190 acres will be thinned to reduce risk from catastrophic wildfires. The project will begin in early October and is scheduled to end by March 31, 2017.
Closure information
- Park closures will take place mid-October through December, Monday-Friday, during helicopter operations.
- Additional trail closures for short durations may be required to facilitate safe felling operations.
- There will be no closures during weekends or major federal holidays.
