Autumn Heritage Event at Walker Ranch – Sunday, 9/25, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Free event fun for all ages! Vintage base ball game at noon.

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Parks and Open Space is hosting the Autumn Heritage and Vintage Baseball Game Day on Sunday, September 25, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Walker Ranch Homestead.

Visitors to this special event experience what autumn was like on a ranch in the 1880s. Costumed volunteers demonstrate how ranchers prepared for winter. Visitors to the homestead can participate in historical games, help with butter churning and laundry with a washboard and wringer, and learn about calf-roping among other activities. A blacksmith will demonstrate making hinges, nails, and other hardware needed around the ranch. One-room school sessions are a favorite activity.

At noon, spectators can watch the Walker Ranch Boys take on the Denver Blue Stockings, a team from the Vintage Base Ball Association during the annual vintage baseball game.

For more information, call 303-776-8848 or visit the Walker Ranch web page.

Please note: Dogs and bicycles are not permitted on the ranch site. Visitors are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at nearby picnic sites.
