The cause of a barn fire near the intersection of 95th Street/Hills View Drive in under investigation

Boulder County, Colo.

On October 1st, 2017 at about 5:45 a.m., the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Mountain View Fire Protection District, Boulder County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services, the Multi Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT) and Boulder County Victim Advocates were dispatched to a barn on fire near the intersection of 95th Street/Hills View Drive.

When first responders arrived, the barn was fully engulfed in flames. Fire fighters with Mountain View Fire Protection District worked to extinguish the flames, which took several hours. There were four horses inside the barn that could not be rescued because of the intense heat.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Boulder County Sheriff's Office case number for this incident is #17-5677.
