Deb Gardner was appointed to the Board of County Commissioners in 2011, and elected to office in 2012 and 2016, serving for a total of nine years. Deb left office in early January 2021 after her position was term-limited.

Prior to becoming commissioner, Gardner, the former chair and treasurer of the Boulder County Democratic Party, served as a state legislator for Colorado House District 11, serving on the House Transportation, Legislative Audit, Business and Economic Development, and Health Benefit Exchange Review committees.Gardner’s professional experience includes time as Senior Accountant for Eco-cycle and Assistant Controller at Western Disposal Services.
Originally from Illinois, Gardner has lived in Colorado since 1986 and in Boulder County since 1994. She holds degrees in biology from Knox College in Illinois and accounting from Metropolitan State College of Denver.
As a resident of Longmont, Commissioner Gardner represented District 2.
