Public Hearing: Proposed 2017 County Ballot Issues

Description

The Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on August 15 to consider whether to refer any county issues to the current year’s election ballot. The public is invited to attend and provide comment on any of the proposed resolutions.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 15

1:00 p.m. COMMISSIONERS’ OFFICE Resolutions 2017-88, 2017-89, 2017-90 & 2017-91 describing ballot measure proposals and referring ballot measures to the Nov. 7, 2017, election, and Resolution 2017-92 setting the ballot titles for the measures referred.

1. Public Hearing: Resolution 2017-88; A Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Boulder County describing a proposal to authorize the formation of the Burgundy Park Public Improvement District of Boulder County; impose a mill levy within the District to pay the costs of repaving County roads within the District; authorize the District to enter a no-interest multiple-fiscal-year obligation to the County; authorize a voter-approved revenue change; and other matters related thereto. ACTION REQUESTED: Adoption / Signature

2. Public Hearing: Resolution 2017-89; A Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Boulder County describing a proposal to extend the existing “Worthy Cause” 0.05% countywide sales and use tax; providing for the use of proceeds of such tax for capital improvements and equipment for human services and human service agencies; a voter-approved revenue change; and other matters related thereto. ACTION REQUESTED: Adoption / Signature

3. Public Hearing: Resolution 2017-90; A Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Boulder County referring to the Nov. 7, 2017, election ballot the question of extending the term limits for the office of the Boulder County Sheriff. ACTION REQUESTED: Adoption / Signature

4. Public Hearing: Resolution 2017-91; A Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Boulder County referring to the Nov. 7, 2017 election a question to authorize the County to provide high-speed Internet service (advanced service), telecommunications service, and/or cable television service, either directly or indirectly, with public or private sector partners, as permitted with voter approval by Article 27, Title 29 of the Colorado Revised Statutes.
