DESCRIPTION:Seniors are invited to kick off spring with a friendly morning of fishing\, fun competition\, and a fish fry at the annual Senior Fish-off. Participants can win awards for heaviest rainbow trout\, most experienced (oldest) angler\, best fishing hat\, and first to catch the limit. \nThe pond has been freshly stocked with rainbow trout\, giving anglers a great chance to reel in a prize-winning catch. \nAfter prizes are awarded\, join Boulder County Parks & Open Space staff for a fish fry. Please note: Staff will bring supplies for the fish fry. Participant catches will not be cleaned or cooked on-site\, but you’re welcome to take your catch home. \n\nOpen to seniors 65 years and older.\nAll anglers must sign in — no fishing before 6:30 a.m.\nValid 2025 Colorado fishing license required.\nLive bait and artificial flies/lures permitted.\nParticipants must bring own fishing gear.\nWheelchair-accessible fishing pier available.\n\n\n\n  \nRegistration not required; you may register to receive updates in case of inclement weather or cancellation. \nSign Up \nRegistration is through Discover Boulder County\, Parks & Open Space’s volunteer and event registration system. DESCRIPTION:Join volunteer naturalists on a memorable nature hike to find and report plants and animals around Harney-Lastoka and Coal Creek Trail as part of the City Nature Challenge. The City Nature Challenge is an international effort for people to find and document plants and wildlife in cities across the globe. It’s a bio-blitz-style competition where cities are in a friendly contest to see who can report the most observations in nature\, who can find the most species\, and who can engage the most people.\nJoin us at the Harney-Lastoka community gardens and bring a camera or smartphone with the iNaturalist app ready to use! \nRegistration for most programs begins on the 20th of the month before the event. \nRegistration required. \nRegister \nRegistration is required through Discover Boulder County\, Parks & Open Space’s volunteer and event registration system.
